Our programme starts for preschoolers at 2 years of age and continues up to the age of 6 years old. Our focus at this stage is the development of Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS). Fundamental movement skills are a specific set of skills that involve different body parts such as feet, legs, trunk, head, arms and hands. Developing these skills will be a significant step towards establishing the required building blocks for children to participate successfully in all types of games, physical activities and sports, including tennis. To read more about Fundamental Movement Skills and to view a presentation from UK Coaching (formerly known as Sports Coach UK) regarding FMS, click here.
At this stage of the programme we aim to:
Enable all young people to develop confidence in their basic movement skills and experience a wide variety of sports at an early age
To better prepare them for lifelong participation in sport, because their self-perception of their sporting ability is more positive
To better prepare them to achieve their full potential due to the learning of transferable skills
Berkhamsted Tennis & Fitness provides tennis and fitness services to people of all ages and levels, every day of the week. We count ourselves as one of the leading all round tennis and fitness coaching programmes in the region.
