Chris Stringer

Chris was born in Sheffield and started playing tennis at the age of 11. He played numerous junior events and was a member of the Yorkshire senior county team. After leaving school he played full-time tennis for 3 years and played in events across England, France, and Spain.  In these events he played alongside players who went on to be world ranked, including 3 world top 10 players.

Chris has been at Berkhamsted Tennis Club since 1994. In this time Chris was the captain of the men’s national club team, which won promotion to the incredibly competitive regional league. Chris was also captain of the Men’s Herts League 1st team, winning promotion to the county’s highest league – the championship division. Chris has also won the Berkhamsted Men’s Singles title 8 times and Men’s Doubles title 7 times, spanning 3 decades.

Chris has a huge passion for the game and extensive experience coaching and competing, which enables him to help players achieve great results technically, mentally, and tactically.
